Training Health Professionals students

Undergraduate health professional students at the partner institutions will be trained using didactics, practicums at clinical settings, and community placement to produce health professional graduates who are well grounded in knowledge, skills, and attitudes relevant for the care, treatment and prevention of HIV/AIDS as well as prepared to conduct locally relevant research (Aim 3).

The approach will be implemented in five phases:

  1. Finalization of core competencies,
  2. Development of curriculum content,
  3. Training of mentors and preceptors,
  4. Delivery of curriculum,
  5. Community-based training.
